Monte Davis has been a freelance writer for most of his career. He studied physical chemistry, then comparative literature with Joseph Campbell. He published article in the NY Times Magazine, Newsweek, Learning, Medical Dimensions, Science Digest, and other publications as well as two books, and held writing and editorial posts at OMNI, Discover, and Psychology Today. Later he wrote for corporate clients in computing, pharmaceuticals, and engineering, including thirty of the Fortune 500. Along the way, he committed carpentry on a geodesic dome in the Maine woods, renovated a loft in DUMBO on the Brooklyn waterfront, ran marathons, and occasionally taught language arts at secondary schools and PR writing for undergraduates.
