Between Now and Then
No matter what,
every time we shift one foot
in front of the other
we’re on the road to
who knows where? it
can’t be helped
In this scheme of things,
—unless you introduce a
mystical element which is,
if not cheating, at least as
fictional as anything that
hasn’t happened yet—
in this scheme, all of this,
must not be about ultimate destination,
it must be about what occurs between
now and then.
