Abhay Parekh grew up in Bombay, India, and attended Cathedral School and St. Xavier's College there before moving to the U.S. He holds an undergraduate degree in Mathematical Sciences from Johns Hopkins University and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from MIT. His papers in data networking have won international awards, and one was selected as among the 16 best papers in networking in the last 50 years.
