Wednesday Poem

To rhetoric: quarry me
for the stones of such tombs as may rise
in your honor.

To molecules: let me be carbon.
To the burners of bones: let me be charcoal.

To drosophila: declaim me
of finger bananas.

To eyes: that they might look askance
in the darkness and find me.
