Sunday Poem

A Refugee in Paris

What do I know of this city
A migrant, a refugee
Carrying a storehouse of fears

Its splendor faded
In the falling light
Its step sprouting
Tense, sinister shadows
Shrouded in suspicions

What do I know of this city
A stranger skirting light and shadows
Seeking a place to bury
Restless thoughts
