Raji Jayaraman lives and works in Toronto. She grew up between boarding school in India and wherever-the-U.N.-said-was-home with her parents. After completing her undergrad in Canada and grad school in the U.S., she spent years living and working in Germany, most recently in Berlin. Her parents let her study economics because, as they explained to the relatives, “It is like accounting.” Raji teaches economics at the University of Toronto.
